In the heart of Valle d'Itria there are typical
buildings named trulli, examples of spontaneous
architecture passed on by peasants through the centuries.
The Trulli are houses typical of the area of Murge in
Puglia, with an original conical roof, which witnesses their
old origins.
The Trulli offer an unique spectacle in
the world: they are built dry-stone
and are made up by a number of rooms around which white
walls are covered with conical roofs, of thin grey stones.
They are famous to be cool in the summer time and warm in
the winter time.
